Day One: Depart Adelaide 6.30am
Adelaide to Coober Pedy via Port Augusta, Pimba, Woomera (brief visit to Heritage Park), Glendambo.
Arrive Coober Pedy approx 5.30 pm. O/night underground accommodation at Coober Pedy.
Day two: After breakfast take a short drive to visit The Breakaways and The Dingo Fence - followed by a morning walk around Coober Pedy including a visit to a family run opal shop, the Umoona Opal Museum, Big Winch Lookout & Underground Catholic Church before departing for William Creek via Anna Creek Station (the largest cattle property in the world). Call in to see Lake Caddibarrawirracanna - then on to William Creek Hotel and a 4WD trek to Halligan Bay on the western edge of Lake Eyre North (if available). O/night ensuite cabins at William Creek Hotel.
Day three: Start the day with a one hour spectacular scenic flight over Lake Eyre followed by breakfast. Depart William Creek approx 9.00am for Leigh Creek via the Oodnadatta Track including Coward Springs, Marree and Lyndhurst. View the Bubbler and Mound Springs and see the old Ghan Railway sidings. Stop at Lake Eyre South before continuing on to Marree for lunch. Visit the ghost town of Farina and the Lyndhurst Ochre pits - book in to accommodation at Leigh Creek Outback Resort for the night with dinner in the tavern.
Day Four: Start the day with breakfast at Leigh Creek before we head off to indulge in the gorgeous gorges of the central Flinders Ranges. Travel along the Brachina Gorge Geological Trail and then the Bunyeroo Gorge Scenic Drive - enjoying wildlife encounters, rock formations dating back hundreds of millions of years and our arid land vegetation - stop to admire the famous “Razorback Lookout”. We have a lunch stop on the way as we make our way back to Adelaide via the Clare Valley region and arrive back late afternoon /early evening.
